Why are suburban kids doing much better?

Suburban teachers aren’t living in poverty, I know many teachers who are doing quite well and very happy. There are also many kids of color in these schools who are performing exceptionally well, so race alone isn’t the issue. We also know that tons of money has been pumped into inner city schools, so money alone isn’t the answer.

What’s dramatically different is the culture, expectations and accountability. Instead of expecting less, why aren’t we all protesting and demanding more?
