schools decades ago. I don't blame them but when they pulled out they gave up their voice . Seventy years ago Southwest HS was one of the best in the state. The whites stayed in the neighborhood but quit going to the school so you had a completely black school in an affluent white neighborhood. Not surprisingly the school did not survive.

This was a case of a failing school in a successful community but because the school did not reflect the values of the community it ultimately closed.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
