Schools are simply a reflection of the communities that they serve. I have taught exclusively in schools in KCMO and KCK for thirty years. In that time I have met hundreds of fantastic kids and hundreds that were less than fantastic. There are outliers of course but as a general rule of thumb good kids come from caring, involved families and bad kids come from uncaring, uninvolved families.
Private schools will not fix that. They may be successful with a few at a time but for the most part they are successful because those that are not making the grade are simply sent back to their public schools that must accept them.
Private schools are not a panecea, they would only be successful if the underlying problems were fixed.
