After that first season, he mostly stood outside the huddle during timeouts or threw in general statements of encouragement and spent most of the game action staring at his piece of paper or blinking/poking his eyes.

I don't know that we really got a good feel for what he could have potentially brought to the table from a coaching perspective, because he essentially checked out the last two seasons after the first year was such a disaster.
