the idea that the Big 10 was going to expand by 1 team, from 11 to 12.
And it would almost assuredly be between Nebraska and Missouri.
That's how it started.
Almost immediately, the internet and message boards and less-than-reputable news sources started reports on every possible scenario that could occur, including the PAC10 taking the entire Big 12 South with (minus Baylor) and Colorado.
Nebraska, Mizzou, Rutgers, Maryland, Pittsburgh all to the Big 10.
I couldn't keep it straight.
If I remember correctly... Colorado pulled the first trigger by going to the Pac 10, and then Nebraska announced shortly after.
And then just a year later, the A&M - Mizzou to the SEC rumors started.
It's hard to keep it straight, but it was a whirlwind of fun.
