never claimed a traffic stop was grounds for a search. But once a traffic stop had been made for probable cause then discovering that the driver was not the car’s owner the officer now had probable cause for further investigation.

I would hope that an officer pulling over my car with someone else at the wheel would ask a few questions that may determine if they were there legally or not.
