If you're really really good at football, don't sign a National Letter of Intent until you show up on your first day of practice in the fall (Or just before you are due to enroll in classes).
Coaches will jump through major hoops for you if you're good and if you want to avoid the coaching carousel don't sign your NLI.
If you're not an elite level player, then grab your scholarship and run because college is probably it for you*.
*This is not me saying that non-elite level high school kids don't make it to the NFL, it's me saying they have less choices and have to work beyond belief to get there.
