SEC bylaws require two conditions be true for intra-conference transfers:
1. student-athlete must have at least 2 years eligibity remaining.
2. student-athlete must sit out a full academic year prior to competing.
The SEC commish can grant waivers and it's generally accepted that a waiver will be granted if a student-athlete has already completed degree requirements and is pursuing a academic degree at the new school that isn't available at the previous school (i.e. usually it's a graduate degree that's fairly simple to make unique).
