For all that GP was able to accomplish, I faulted his "loyalty" was to his pals rather than to the source of his paycheck . . Mizzou. In any business one can get too attached to your friends to the detriment of the enterprise
IMO Mike Alden should have raised his eyebrows when GP wanted to bring everyone over from a MAC team. He had a good program there but not a powerhouse. If you look at someone who comes up to a P5 program, they usually bring several staffers but not everyone. And I think if one looked at P5 staffs from year to year you will see turnover in most. Yes, "continuity" has its benefits but also its limitation and I believe we are seeing it here.
