I think staying with the status quo on staffing has been Missouri's Achilles Heel
GP brought his entire staff (save for Tom what's his name, who wound up with the Toledo job). And over his tenure he made very few staff changes. There was never anybody who was an upgrade year to year? Our record hardly justified keep thin status quo, and the reality is, virtually none of those guys were lured away by other schools. That should tell you something right there.
Missouri strikes me as a program that's goal is "to get by". Schedule light in the OOC, and split the SEC games. Get to a cheap or mediocre bowl, recruit the "hidden gems" rinse and repeat. If GP really wanted to win big he would have risked some staff turnover, but he couldn't bring himself to do it unless his back was against the wall. You've been following the program long enough to know that's how he operated.
