My perspective is just a bit different. Cops do have the risk of being called out to a potential crime scene with potentially armed and dangerous strangers. That makes their job inherently dangerous.

Truckers have to deal with, of course, the stranger in a 4 wheeler driving like a maniac.

Both have to take evasive action sometimes, but the trucker can go more days without being at risk vs a cop.......at least when you count face time with those strangers, and the potential for firearms being present.
