I mean, all KA would have to do to keep his job is be decent. Win 20-25 games a year is definitely attainable with Mizzou's resources, modern scheduling, etc.
While Haith wasn't an amazing coach by any estimation, while he was at Mizzou, he was at least good for that.
And I don't think that the program was in such terrible shape that a competent coach couldn't come in and be decent. Sure, maybe there'd be a drop off, but my line of thiking was a drop off from 22 wins to 17 or 18, and then building back up from there.
16 wins 3 years into a coach 's tenure - and never more than 16 wins, is that really what we want at Mizzou? (And it's a stretch to say that KA will get to 16 wins this season)
Suppose for a moment that KA does somehow win 16 games this season. He's 63 years old. How much longer to we give him to finally build up to respectability? Say it takes him 3 more years to win 22 games. THen what? He'd retire in the next 3-5 years anyway.
If it doesn't work out this season, we need to move on.
