There are plenty of examples of coaches hired at the same time as Kim where the coaches are poised for a break-through. Marquette, Oregon State, Houston, and Virginia Tech all are looking like tourney teams with their 3rd year coach. Cuonzo Martin is entering his 3rd year after taking over a NIT team as well. About the only coach hired the same time as Kim that is doing worse is Danny Manning or BC's coach and to their credit, they inherited truly cratered programs not made-up cratered programs like Kim fans claim.
