...is that they can't see the forest for the trees. They refuse to look at the process and are impatient when success isn't instant. They are the same type of fans who complained during 90+ loss Royals seasons when Ned Yost refused to pinch hit for Alcides Escobar in the 9th inning of a 1 run game. He would say "Alcides is going to get important at bats in meaningful baseball games in the next few years and I want him to be ready." Escobar went on to win the 2015 ALCS MVP. Thats great coaching, in my opinion. Coaching for the long term and building a better foundation rather than a quick fix.
But instead, we have a bunch of fans who just quit on the team rather than hang in there. Here's a few examples of that same whiney, I Know Everything type of behavior that is now prevalent with some of our basketball fans. It was the same type of mentality back then as it is now.
