putting a finger to the wind, issuing a non-committal statement, checking with their bros, and then heading into the next meeting with that ole direct deposit fully functional.
In other words, the antithesis of strong, visionary leadership.
This means ANYTHING is still possible and if you'd like to influence the process look for a way to threaten that direct deposit. Wrongful termination? Bring that into the mix. Be interesting to hear a lawyer make a case for wrongful termination right now.
Also name names. WHO is the ring leader in any potential firing. Is it Hank Foley? If so then get him off the list for permanent chancellor.
It's interesting that the prime investigator and/or writer of the Title IX report has been fired. Why? Did she do a reputable job instead of slinging the dirt? Hard to say, but it's definitely a weird aspect to this case.
Trust that these administrators have NO IDEA how catastrophic the firing will be. They'll be shocked when the subsequent exodus happens. And when it does happen corrective action against Foley/Reesman and any other staff taking this ill-advised action should be taken.
At the end of the day, if a firing does happen, we'll have Mizzou carrying out an investigation, failing to find anything, angering Paige & Co. to the point of transferring, then FIRING and angering the loyal players to the point of transferring.
In other words max damage through max incompetence.
Close this now. Don't fire EE. Accept his own corrective actions as adequate and move on. That's the damage control option. Hopefully these career risk avoiders will see sense in this course of action and we will still have a softball program after next week.
