I said something similar recently.
EE is either going to be fired, or retained with some kind of sanctions, probation, reprimand, etc. Clearly there are issues here, EE himself has admitted to that. The question is the seriousness and whether it rises to the level of termination. He is not going to be 'totally exonerated' as I'm afraid a few people here think he should. Just not gonna happen.
I'm hoping he is retained, and the university clearly lays out the expectations from here going forward. Although that will be difficult to do.
Every day this drags on diminishes the university, and the softball program. The persons in charge need to bring it to an end, one way or another, so everyone can move on, EE, the players and their families, and the fan base and supporters of the program.
These days turned out nothing like we had planned (Powderfinger). We were supposed to move into a state of the art stadium with 2 ace pitchers leading us back to the WCWS. They are both gone now, and that dream is remote. But the program needs to move forward. With kids who want to be here, like Rathburn, Sanchez, Baumgartner, and more, and the incoming freshmen class, which is again outstanding. And with EE as the coach. Amen.
