limitations sounds just like externalizing blame/cause for one's plight to me. I mean, literally, by not internalizing the failure, you're putting it on something else.
I don't buy that everyone who internalizes their failures (or who takes responsibility for them or some portion of them) is inherently, by default assigning moral fault to themselves.
I know I have limited ambition, relative to many others, but I don't carry a whit of moral fault nor do I feel a stigma.
I don't buy a lot of the rational here, but I 100% agree that people are less likely to be truly happy if they have "success" as the main metric of evaluating personal value.
