Parenthood spending, major cuts or eliminating government funded media like NPR, major layoffs at the IRS & assorted other federal agencies, a major restructuring of military spending in NATO countries, and a requirement that other countries wanting the protection of the US military umbrella help do their part in paying for that spending, upgrading the record keeping systems at the department pf Social Security & other federal agencies are among the huge efforts at cutting federal spending the administration has already taken in the early days of his administration, and the tariffs are already bringing in additional hundreds of billions.
Of course a lot of the largest budget items, like the $1 Trillion/year and growing interest expense, and the Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid & federal drug programs are not really something they are able to touch in any significant way.
Their record in attempting to cut the budget deficit, which is on a growth autopilot, is hardly something that a disinterested, rational person could logically call a lie, or so it seems to me.
