Also not sure why you would avoid being seen as connected to recruiters as a negative.

you can use them in many ways.

If your company is looking for someone
To understand the general job market in the industry
To see if there might be a better opportunity out there.

If an employer has a problem with being connected to a recruiter, that is pretty dumb.
