Did he lie about why he got fired? Was he able to hold it together for a few hours. Did he have references willing to say anything good about him?

I kinda want to ask him "wtf is wrong with you" but I am sure he will twist it into someone else's fault, although he was pretty open on why he got fired on his previous job to this one. And since I knew the person within the company, the stories matched well (this was the job he actually lasted 9 years at).
