it is followed through. To be consistent it means that the waters from Noah’s Flood came from beyond the farthest stars in the universe. I’ll show how.
Genesis 1
6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. 8 And God called the expanse Heaven.
So we have this expanse (firmament in KJV) called heaven, with waters above the expanse.
Genesis 1
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[f] and for days and years,
Within this expanse (and below the waters above the expanse), we have the sun, moon and stars.
Genesis 7
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.
The windows of heaven open and flood the Earth. Remember this expanse called heaven is where the sun, moon and stars are. The windows of heaven release the waters that are above.
So if we read the text literally the waters above traveled from beyond the farthest stars to flood the Earth.
4Tigs doesn’t understand the text was written around an ancient cosmology to an ancient audience. It was teaching them about God within that context.
Here is what the ancient near East cosmology looked like.
