Clearly illusionary talk. But when God tells us the wages of sin is death, that does not mean "like"'death. It means dead. The only way to pay for those sins was the death of Jesus and then His resurrection. The single most outlandish claim of Scripture but the most important. Science will call it impossible. If that didn't happen, none of it matters.
And if one can take God at His word Jesus was dead as dead can be for thee days and came back to life, how can you not believe how He told us He created the earth and all in it?
