What I remember is their was not much hype about him. I use to subscribe to Basketball Times and I remember it mentioning him and it was a good get for Missouri. I don't remember anybody thinking he would become the player that he became.
I also remember Rich Daly talking about Detroit being a hot spot for basketball and the couldn't all go to Michigan or Michigan State. Could be neither needed to recruit the position that year.
I dont think Coward and Hardy were recruited by the big schools very hard.
I think we had high hopes for Sutton but seems like injuries early in his career got him off track and he never got back on.
