Melvin Watkins being retained in an effort to secure the commitment of Keon Lawrence when Mike Anderson became our head coach. No way Mike is able to hire an assistant like Melvin otherwise, and his entire tenure at both MU and Arkansas would have been much different without Melvin being at his side.
