outcry if MU had a bad season or a head coach didn't work out. 10s of people would notice and become mildly upset.

If he could rebuild MU back to the point where at some future point we could hire a really good coach because the expectations and fan support and track record and commitment to the sport was actually present that would be a homerun and worth the risk in my opinion. He would graduate players, not have any NCAA issues, create a program identity, put a more entertaining product on the court, and improve the results. Those are almost certainties. He may not win 30 games and take us to the Elite Eight, but those types of expectations are long gone.
