Self would have failed at MU to a much greater degree than Quin. He had a less impressive resume, is much dirtier, is not as good of a coach, and much more dependent on being dirty for his success.

A better comparison is Self to Haith. They had similar resume's and are similar coaches. Self is a considerably dirtier coach than Haith, and they are about equivalent in terms of coaching. Self's success is a product of his environment.
