With the life studies courses, which would be a great idea

for some, you'd have the entire football and basketball teams majoring in "life studies" not just the future pro stars.
A few years after michael vick was here, his little brother who was a real piece of shlt, got a scholarship and was tooling around campus in a new cadillac suv.
Should he get a stipend?
There are hardship cases like the one you cited that can and should be addressed. But the "one size fits all" solution that gives the same stipend or the same pay to everyone on scholarship is silly.
That is how socialists make policy. Oh golly, there is a single mom with two kids who can't afford health insurance. Let's roll out obama care for 330,000,000 people, 90% of whom are perfectly satisfied with the good coverage they have....because of anecdotal evidence that some people are in need.
So now everybody has shltty health care but at least the single mom with three kids can wait in line and get lousy healthcare like everyone else who used to get good health care.
Give help to the people who need help. Not to everyone who looks like them.
