conclusion, then yes, I would agree.
I'm just not as completely skeptical as you are about the modeling of the virus spread. Any model has assumptions and probably thousands of realizations that bracket reality. One of the driving assumptions is not so scientific as it is social - how much human interaction will there be? I'm frankly very surprised at how many people actually altered their lives - whether by edict or choice. At the end of the day, we are still left with a communicable disease with a relatively high mortality rate. Given enough interaction once we return to normalcy, it will spread and there will be a second peak. Not proposing a solution but I think what happens next will be pretty obvious and the magnitude of the problem entirely dependent the intensity of human interaction.
