I’m not at all emotionally invested in any position. I ask what I think are interesting questions. Those may tend to a particular “side” but that’s mainly because I like to counter the annoying echo chamber that this board has become. I have no idea what I think should be done about this thing, and if I had to decide, I’d probably lean towards opening things up.
Today I went to a doctor’s office and a grocery store and I don’t wear a mask, although I wash my hands pretty well. And I haven’t wet my pants or gotten the vapors yet. But I have close friends and relatives with immunodeficiency conditions and who don’t live in an area where groceries and drugstores deliver (NW Wisconsin), and I am profoundly empathetic to their condition. And in fact, one of those is an older brother who posts here occasionally and who you have specifically mocked as a “bed wetter “. FTR, he’s not.
I am by nature a cynic and a pessimist so I have bad expectations for this thing, but I hope and pray my pessimism is ill taken. I don’t think the end is quite as near as you seem to think.
I like and respect you too, and love the lawyerish way that you carve up the asshats on this board. on the other hand, if your very firmly and confidently stated positions are wrong, that means a whole bunch of people will be dead and you may be the one wishing you hadn’t invested so heavily in an outcome.
