pretty even in wins and loses with Nebraska at that time. Then the train wreck occurred, why, who knows there are a lots of theories, Barbara Uehling happened, coaching fell off, recruiting was dismal, top recruits got hurt some before they reached MU, we lost 30 some games in a row to Nebraska, but whatever it was; fans began to lose interest in football and basketball became the go to sport. Then Pinkel happened, he played easy out of conference games to make sure he got to bowls and would occasionally make a run at a B12 and the SEC title but could never win the big one. Fan support improved but only so so, then 2015 occurred and Pinkel supported the players to boycott football because someone was faking a hunger strike. Not only fan support but new student support dropped way off. Odom took over a mess, did a decent job of resolving the mess Pinkel left but couldn't win games he was supposed to win and lost every bowl. So fan support continued to flounder in the water. Which brings us to Drink, if he can get to a bowl next year and win, IMO fan support will start to improve once again and with a little luck continue each year there after.
