and I gotta say I agree with you.

You'll catch crap for bringing this up as you will catch crap for most anything you post here now, but it's a solid topic for fans to speak on.

It's not up to Sterk to self decide and declare he's regained the fans trust.

First off, that demonstrates that he believes he has once had their trust and that since that time, he's done something to lose it.

Secondly, what is it exactly that he's done that makes him feel he's lost that trust and what does he think he's now done to get it back?
