or do you think it ultimately depends on the outcome of his appeal with the NCAA?
There's no doubt that Sterk lost the trust of fans after his gross mishandling of the Yolanda case, which resulted in severe multi-year sanctions being levied against our football, baseball, and softball programs.
Yet after months of spending AD money on a "#MakeItRight" PR campaign, complete with ads and billboards across the state, Sterk is claiming that he's "gained back the trust" of fans.
It would seem however that the only way Sterk can redeem himself is through a successful appeal of the level-1 violations he inexplicably pled guilty to without a plea bargain, instead of lawyering up and fighting Yolanda's claims like every other Power5 AD would have. If Sterk fails yet again and the sanctions are upheld, it's hard to imagine that anyone could have confidence in him going forward.
This is the "Show Me" state, and Sterk needs to show us that he's not as incompetent as his recent very costly NCAA blunder makes him look.
But I'm interested in what the rest of you think — has Sterk regained your trust regardless of the outcome of the appeal?
