"Do you agree w/ Sterk that Mizzou has regained the trust of fans?
or do you think it ultimately depends on the outcome of Mizzou's appeal with the NCAA?
There's no doubt that Mizzou lost the trust of fans after thier gross mishandling of the Yolanda case, which resulted in severe multi-year sanctions being levied against our football, baseball, and softball programs.
Yet after months of spending AD money on a "#MakeItRight" PR campaign, complete with ads and billboards across the state, Mizzou is claiming that it has "gained back the trust" of fans.
It would seem however that the only way Mizzou can redeem itself is through a successful appeal of the level-1 violations he inexplicably pled guilty to without a plea bargain, instead of lawyering up and fighting Yolanda's claims like every other Power5 school would have. If Mizzou fails yet again and the sanctions are upheld, it's hard to imagine that anyone could have confidence in them going forward.
This is the "Show Me" state, and Mizzou needs to show us that they are not as incompetent as their recent very costly NCAA blunder makes them look.
But I'm interested in what the rest of you think — has Mizzou regained your trust regardless of the outcome of the appeal?"
Let me know what you think. OK?
