There wasn't gonna be a pg that Martin would have taken otherwise, or one that he could have gotten since all the good ones are taken.
Coming in on a short recruiting cycle, most coaches are just looking for a couple of guys who fit what they want to build, regardless of positional needs. Martin just happened to come in with a situation where a once in a generation talent was available and thus the majority of that class (both brothers and Kash) were brought in to take advantage of that one year.
It was a fun season, but means nothing for the program going forward as the rebuild started in earnest this year, and you can see it in the core of Mark Smith, Tilmon, Pickett, Watson, and Pinson. Harris is not in the same mold of these guys, but we traded him for Mark Smith so the program is ultimately much better as a result.
