It was an attack designed to be a spectacle and pull us into war in Afghanistan. The Mujahadeen had defeated the Sovs with some US help and now the set up was to defeat the US. Last I heard - we are still there SIXTEEN YEARS LATER.

You implication that the attack it not severely impact the nation is nuts.
