The things that individuals have to do in wars are immoral, no question. But wars themselves can be fought for moral purposes.
Knowing your complete lake of a moral compass I assume you believe the US should have stood down during WWII and let Hitler conquer Europe and exterminate the Jews. People with a conscious know that would have been unacceptable. The same is true with the Japanese and their rape of China. Wars can definitely be fought for moral reasons but need to be completed as soon as possible to minimize suffering.
