So no one with 8 or 10 or 13 years of experience is capable of being an "expert" . . . or competent to make judgments in his field? Did he play HS FB? Did he coach at the HS level"? Did he play in college? Is he a hobbyist who decided to turn his hobby into a career? What kind of hours does he put in? Who does he know, who does he talk to? He sure looks to be full time, so presumably he's competent enough to secure a job for years, and self supporting
Do you think he just walked in from financial advising and was hired on the spot? Or do you think he might have had to prove himself? Do you think he's learned anything after years on the job?
If you were on the CFP Committee, do you think you could listen, ask questions, watch games, analyze data, think, and offer up a judgment on the 4 best teams? If so, do you think you would have been different and by how much? Or do you think you would have pretty much been in agreement with your peers?
You assume that people are not capable to performing other jobs, or new jobs, outside of their education and/or experience. And with that I disagree. There's plenty of smart, competent people out there who have bounced around before finding their niche. And my guess is that if this guy just parroted what other people said, he wouldn't still have that job. JMO.
