God gives everyone free choice, and it is up to each individual to decide who they will be and what their choices will be. He wants you to be good, but he gives you the power to be bad. But there are dire consequences for you if you choose the latter.

People who don't believe in God only see the consequences on this earth. They don't consider the consequences after their life on this earth ends.

If God gives people free choice, who are we to go back in time and kill someone we believe will make bad choices? Given a second chance, maybe different choices would be made. It would be a crime (and a sin) to kill Hitler as a baby.
