the things to make his building safe, like hire licensed commercial electricians to do the wiring, installed adequate exits to allow a mass evacuation, not built a staircase out of discarded pallets, installed a sprinkler system because the "warehouse" was actually being used as a residential property and not as art studio space, the fire extinguishers were properly maintained.....do you want me to continue?


But since he never allowed inspectors or codes enforcement onto his property (or pulled permits notifying them of any work), what makes you think he was about anything other than turning a buck?

This shows exactly why government intervention is needed to protect the public. If the building had a huge condemned sign indicating it was unfit for human occupancy voluntarily installed by the owner, how many people would have paid his admission fee to attend the party?
