Today we have some people arguing that the Oakland warehouse owner's refusal to allow government intrusion into his affairs, his defense of property rights, is a direct cause of death. Not negligence, but not allowing government to infringe upon his rights. No one questions the force of government here and its monopoly in the failure of that monopoly. No one considers people may have known the situation, and agreed to live there under those conditions. No one considers for a second free-market alternatives. No, government is the great benefactor and the great holder of wisdom.
Similarly, no one questions the death tolls of government-"owned" and operated roads and highways. No one considers free-market alternatives.
