God ain't playin' word games with the text. But, that is exactly what you are claiming. Basic rules of translation, NOT interpretation, apply in this case as in all others.
The Roman Catholic bible says the same thing as the New King James and the Greek. Only for a specific period of time did Joseph not have sex with Mary. That is what the text actually says. To claim differently is to add to the word of God.
This is what Eve did in the garden. Her response was that God said they couldn't eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil OR TOUCH IT. God never said anything about touching it. Like Eve, you add a period of time to the text, and claim she never had sex with Joseph, when the text itself does not say that.
