Signs of upward momentum, a staff starting to put their stamp on the program, and indications of potential. Those are the kinds of things that were seen in year one of the Quin, Mike, and Frank eras.

Its kind of a moot point, because we aren't going to show this progress you want and at the end of the season it will be rather clear and everyone will be on the same page. But in terms of preseason hypothetical, no showing progress from 8 to 10 to potentially 15 wins is not justifying retainment. That is just 3 straight terrible years of incompetence highlighting what a mistake the hire was. Winning 15 to 16 games this season would not be an indication we are on the cusp of an NCAA tourney bid in the future.
