the development of guys like JW3, Gill Caesar, Gant, Clark, etc. And the recruiting of Fuller, combined with our attempts to establish pipelines to Huntington Prep and the St. Louis Eagles by hiring their coaches as assistants. If all those things come together and he shows less propensity to be overwhelmed in the role and does a better job coaching/preparing he has a chance at success.
In other words it didn't work. There is zero chance he can win even close to enough games to justify retainment. His only plausible path to coaching MU beyond this year is to continue to make the job so unbelievably unattractive with additional self penalties, APR issues, and fan apathy that it becomes impractical to try and make a serious commitment to the sport and bring in viable replacement candidates.
Coaching changes are only disruptive when there is something to disrupt. The program is completely bottomed out and has no momentum or long term trajectory upward whatsoever.
