Neither side is all that interested in acknowledging the full scope of reality.

Kim needs to win, and soon, or else he needs to go. Did he inherit a cratered program? Yes, he most certainly did. Is he responsible for bringing it back to life, and fast? Yes, he is.

It's really that simple. Love him or hate him, he's getting at least one more season to see what he can do. That'll be what determines the fate of the program for the next four or five years.
