there was only radio very often. Most games weren't televised. Mizzou was also top ten in the nation in attendance. Many of the SEC schools weren't fully integrated and had not built the palaces they are in today.
Bowls were beyond special. New Year's Day was a religious experience. Just a different era. Mizzou football just felt different. More special.
