Sure we upset some teams, but we would often lose to Kansas, Illinois and even Kstate. The idea that a 7-4 70s team was better than one of Pinkels 12-2 teams is crazy. Atleast those teams never lost to unranked teams. I mean, we never played a game in January during the 70s (1970 Orange Bowl does not count)

Even 1978, our best of the 70s, dropped one to ksu. Give me 2007 and 2013 any day, years when we actually had a seat at the table. Years where we were relevant at the end of the regular season.

Can someone explain to me why the 70s were in any way better than the Pinkel era?
