The AD who hired [Gates] has stated that it's her mission to hire minority coaches to "level the playing field" and "promote diversity and inclusion" in college sports.
She serves on the board of a DEI advocacy group called "The National Coalition of Minority Coaches" whose stated mission is "promoting and producing...diversity and inclusion in coaching...promoting minorities for available opportunities."

Pursuant to that mission, she hired the head coach of Cleveland State after coming off a first-round NIT loss and #197 final ranking in Kenpom.
She did the same thing with our baseball program, hiring a guy with an abysmal 76-95 career record coming off a losing 10-14 season at Memphis.
The basketball hire just ended a 21-game SEC losing streak.
The baseball hire just finished with the worst overall record in the SEC.
Those are all FACTS.
