First, how easily you dismissed Gates inheriting a player NBA scouts told was not good enough and to go back to school for his senior year and work on his skills. To his credit Kobe did and developed into an NBA 1st rounders under Gates who encouraged Kobe to be the man.
2023-2024 was a lost season as the team lacked talent. Period. No way to refute this fact. 0, 1, 5 wins would not have made that pig look any better. It was a bad team.
Don't know about you but I see zero reason to harp on it. It happened, it's over and there's nothing redeeming about it to look back at.
What was it Gates said after the game yesterday?
Players make plays. I don't give a damn who's coaching, son, you must have players to win.
Lastly:
1) Gates put this 2024-2025 squad together.
2) Players wanted to play for him. How much NIL plays in
the equation is anyone's guess.
3) Practically all freshmen from the 2023-2024 disaster
stuck with him. Ant and Pierce have significant roles
under Gates this year.
4) Gates brought in another highly-rated 2024-25 freshmen
class.
5) Gates brought in a highly-rated transfer portal class.
6) Gates and his Missouri Tigers are now 14-3 with wins
over #1 & #5 teams in the country and have been
competitive in every game this season.
But in your opinion, it's hard to say how much credit Gates deserves?
Boy, you sound like a fool.
