Basically it said that using those funds to pay athletes isn't the charitable mission of which they were awarded 501(c)(3). The impact won't be for any 501(c)(3) to now be able to pay players. It will be that a 501(c)(3) will not be able to pay players because it's not their charitable mission. Harvard would would have to abandon their tax exempt status in order to pay players out of their endowment and they're never going to do that.
