Could this scenario be a slippery slope? What message could you possibly be sending to future coaches in all sports? Could it be a negative message that you will fire a coach in the middle of the season and could that cause some potential coaches to stay away? Just asking. Not sure this is a real issue.

I have to believe Laird has a list of potential head coaches and he is already making inquiries and having conversations when appropriate. Laird is a disciple of Alden and this is how Alden worked. Just my two cents.
